This is an audience interactive panel, where you can ask your favorite narrator to say YOUR words. Or, line up for your chance to perform a duet- take home your copy of the recording.

Signing Day One

  • 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Opening Day signings with authors and narrators give you the chance to meet people who write your favorite stories and the voices who bring them to life in audio. VIP/VIP+ tickets get one hour early access starting at 10. In addition to the autographs, enjoy Vendor Alley, where you can shop for your favorite merch, grab a relaxing chair massage, or maybe even a quick commemorative (fake) tattoo – after all – This – is – New Orleans!

Author interviews narrators based upon their voices/performances of key things – like ‘how ‘would you help me get over a tough day?’ or: ‘I’m still working my 9-5 while this writing thing takes off… Read me this spreadsheet and make it interesting!’ or: ‘I HATE waking up in the morning! Can you be my alarm clock?’

Panel: Authors: How to write for Audio

As the audiobook world turns toward duet and multicast- even graphic audio, this requires adapting your story to the needs of delivering in a more visual format – like a screenplay. Learn what it takes from experts in duet and multicast audiobooks.

Dark Star World Premier Novella*

Ever wonder what narrators go through when fleshing out characters for their audiobooks? Spend some time with our inner ‘casting directors as we go through the paces: “Yeah, I’m hearing this character as a Russian Mafia Don… Contestant #1 – how would that sound?? On second thought Contestant #3, I think he should be – FABULOUS! I’m sorry Contestant #2, but what I meant to say was He’s French – OH, and female…”

How do you celebrate the friends you’ve made and the autographs you’ve scored? By letting loose at the Saturday Night Gala and Good Girl Naughty Girl Masquerade Dance and Gala. We’ll recognize the shining authors and narrators and performances of the year while you enjoy cocktails at the no-host bar and dance to a one-of-a-kind mix from world-renowned DJ Albert Linesses III. VIP+ ticket holders enjoy a pre-gala meal.

Sunday September 1st

Sunday Morning Brunch and Hugs
